PERFECT PRIMAVERA PERFORMANCE

Capone and a Kemppainen own goal saw the Rossoneri beat Hellas 2-0 at Vismara

Vismara has been good to AC Milan Primavera, who - following the 1-0 win over Lecce - have now beaten Hellas Verona at home too (2-0). It was a pretty comfortable game for the Rossoneri right from the off as our boys took lead inside 120 seconds and then controlled the rest of the game. Capone's first-half goal - his first in exactly four months and a day after his birthday - and a Kemppainen own goal after the break decided it on the day. It was a richly deserved win, in which Lazetić made his first appearances in an AC Milan shirt.

As it was against Lecce, the Diavolo scored and didn't concede at home as they look to have come through a rough patch in the league and at a key time too - just before the international break. Our Primavera now move to 36 points after 25 games and thus have relaunched their bid for the playoff places. We now have a few extra days, with which to rest and recuperate, before preparing for the big match at the start of April away at Juve.

MATCH REPORT

Nasti returned to the starting line-up and his impact was instant: in just the second minute, he provided the assist for Capone's goal. Marco brought it down and fed Andrea, who - aided by a mistake from Redondi - managed to wind up the shot and place it into the corner. After AC Milan's lightning-fast start, the game became a cagey affair with few chances on either side. Yeboah, Folgio, Bragantini and Ogoregbe all gave it a go but to no avail. Hellas Verona did threaten in the 33rd minute when Kemppainen picked up a yard of space in the box and put it past the onrushing Desplanches, only for Bosisio to make a crucial clearance behind for a corner. Just before the break, Capone and Nasti both let fly but Kivila denied them both.

Giunti made two changes at the start of the second half as he sent on Lazetić and Roback in place of Nasti and Omoregbe. Emil looked bright, first miskicking it after Capone's effort was parried by Kivila and then forcing the own goal in the 59th as his cross was turned in by Kemppainen. The Gialloblù struggled to create any real chances and their only opportunity of note was a Bragantini shot on the turn, which was saved by Desplanches. The Diavolo continued to look the more likely of the two teams to score: Lazetić's effort in the 66th minute and Roback's shot in the 68th, saved by Kivila. Lazetić's debut was not to last the entire half as he was forced off with an injury. The final chances of the game fell to Rossi, who fired over, and Tolomello, who forced a diving save from Kivila. Full time.
