9 FACTS ON AC MILAN V SAMPDORIA

The main stats ahead of the Rossoneri's matchday 29 fixture in Serie A

The league returns and the final push for Champions League football begins. Serie A matchday 29, of which every game will be played on Saturday, begins with AC Milan v Sampdoria. The two sides face off on Saturday  3 April at 12:30 CEST at San Siro. As we approach kick-off, here are a few stats from games between the Rossoneri and Blucerchiati.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
1- AC Milan have won 65 of their 125 Serie A clashes with Sampdoria; 30 wins for the Blucerchiati and 30 draws complete the current record.

2- AC Milan have won 40 of their 62 home games against Samp in Serie A (D11, L11). The Rossoneri have a high win rate at home against Samp (64.5%) than they do against any other side that they have hosted at least 40 times in Serie A.

CURRENT FORM
3- AC Milan have won 18 out of 28 games this season so far (D5, L5) and, should they win, could equal their overall totals for wins from the 2018/19 and 2019/20 campaigns.

GENERAL STATS
4- AC Milan have hit the woodwork more times than any other team in Serie A this season (18), while no team has been rescued by the frame of the goal more than Doria (16).

PLAYER FOCUS
5- Simon Kjær and Rade Krunić's next appearance will be their 50th for AC Milan in all competitions.

6- Zlatan Ibrahimović has scored at least 15 goals in six different Serie A campaigns; Gunnar Nordahl (8), Kurt Roland Hamrin and Gabriel Batistuta (7) are the only foreign players to have bettered this total. Since June 2020, AC Milan haven't lost a single one of the 14 games, in which Ibrahimović has scored - winning 12 of these with the Swede bagging 22 goals in total in that time.

7- Frank Kessie, who is currently on nine goals this season, could become the first Rossoneri centre-mid to reach double figures after 29 Serie A matchdays since Kaká in 2008/09.

8- Hakan Çalhanoğlu has had a hand in 129 efforts on goal in Serie A this season (55 shots, 74 chances created). The only midfielders to have done better in Europe's Top-5 leagues this season are Bruno Fernandes (172) and Kevin De Bruyne (146).

9- Alessio Romagnoli played 30 times in Serie A for Sampdoria in 2014/15, scoring twice.
