It was an important victory on that famous old Glasgow ground. AC Milan didn't slip up at Celtic Park as they kicked off their Europa League campaign with a win over the hosts, thanks to goals from Krunić, Díaz and Hauge. Three different goalscorers, all whom feature in our nine post-match facts. Here they are:
- AC Milan have scored two or more goals in ten consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since December 1964, 56 years ago.
- The Rossoneri have won a game with a maximum of six shots on goal for the first time since January 2019, against Napoli (2-0 in the Coppa Italia).
- AC Milan are unbeaten more than 20 consecutive matches for the first time since 1996 (27 on that occasion).
- AC Milan have opened a Europa League campaign (excluding qualifiers) with a win for the first time since November 2018 (v Dudelange).
- Brahim Díaz has scored in two games in 2020/21, he has never scored in more games in a single season in all competitions while playing for a team in one of Europe's Top-5 leagues: he also scored in two games in 2018/19 (three goals)
- It took Rade Krunić 861 minutes to score his first AC Milan goal, but only 14 of these minutes have come in the Europa League.
- Ten different AC Milan players have scored in all competitions this season: more than any other Serie A side.
- Sandro Tonali is the first Italian born after 2000 to start in either the Europa League or Champions League.
- AC Milan are the third team, with which Diogo Dalot has played in either the Champions League or Europa League - after Porto and Manchester United. This was his AC Milan debut.
