SAELEMAEKERS SCORES FIRST INTERNATIONAL GOAL

Alexis Saelemaekers was the Rossoneri headline-maker in Sunday evening's international fixtures. Indeed, AC Milan's No.56 scored his first Belgium goal as the Red Devils secured an important 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic in Brussels. It's a result that sees Belgium move ever closer to Qatar 2022: they sit top of Group E, six points ahead of the Czechs.

Alexis entered the fray in the 57th minute, and his goal - a confident right-footed finish from around twelve yards out following Romelu Lukaku's assist - put the game to bed, with the Red Devils already two up following strikes from Lukaku and Eden Hazard. Saelemaekers scored on his third appearance for his country.

He was the only AC Milan player to take to the pitch yesterday: Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi weren't used by Roberto Mancini as Italy drew 0-0 with Switzerland in Basel. The Azzurri remain top of Group C with eleven points from five matches, four ahead of the Swiss, who, however, have two games in hand.
