Andrea Bartoccioni's story is what the Rossoneri dream is all about. Born in Milan, he's someone who has his way up through the age groups of the AC Milan Youth Sector. From Vismara to Milanello: he's also been involved in first-team training. A serious and switched-on youngster, he's grown consistently and earned his chance out on the pitch. After two years of playing on a rotational basis with the U18s and a few opportunities with the U19s, Bartoccioni has really established himself as a Primavera player this campaign. Indeed, he's regularly been selected between the sticks in the league and has also made his debut in the Youth League.
Furthermore, Andrea was named on the bench for a first-team fixture for the very first time when AC Milan faced Juventus at home, making his start to the season all the more memorable. As he continues to progress, the Rossoneri No.24 remains determined and focused. Standing at 196 centimetres tall, Bartoccioni often displays his reflexes and is one of the leaders of a young group. Nevertheless, he has real desire to improve. His growth during the first three months of the season has gone hand in hand with that of the team.
From being inspired by having the opportunity to train with goalkeepers of the calibre of Maignan, Sportiello and Mirante to personal and team objectives for a season that has started well but is very much still in its early stages. From his journey in Rossoneri colours to the unity of a group that is ready to return to the pitch for important home fixtures against Cagliari and Borussia Dortmund.
Andrea covered several interesting topics in his interview with Milan TV: "We're a close-knit group, you can see that on the pitch, We're playing well, but we can't stop here. We're working hard to improve and to win. My fellow goalkeepers are good players. This competition is an added motivation to always do better. Our next games are really important; we'll need to be hungry and ruthless."
