Six matches, six victories: the U17 Rossoneri could not have started the season in better fashion. AC Milan have got off to a flying start in what is known as the antechamber of the Youth Sector, together with the U18s before reaching the Primavera, confirming the golden start to the season from all of our youth teams.
With 24 goals scored and 3 conceded, the Rossoneri also have the best goal difference among the three Allievi Nazionali groups. A campaign improved by the 3-1 away victory at Monza: a match that also saw Ossola's brace, with a tally of 7 goals scored in these first six matches.
It has been a co-operative effort from Renna's men, with twelve different goalscorers in these first 540' of the season. A particularly promising start considering the tradition of the last few years in which many U17 players break into the U18s or the Primavera.
"We've got off to a great start," said Coach Renna. "Away from just the positive results, we know we need to keep working hard to improve each aspect of the boys' game. We're trying to convey intensity, both in practice and thought, and our aim is to create 'thinking' footballers, who have good technical grounding but also know how to independently read the game and choose the right options. This will allow the players to be decisive in their own roles during a game."
