It's time for a first assessment of the season for Coach Ilenia Prati's Under-15 Women's team. A group, that of the young Rossonere, which is composed of two year groups: eleven players are 2008-born whilst nine, are 2009-born and playing a year up. The first area of concern emerges here, given that the first phase of the season was geared towards levelling out the two years, with those born in 2008 already having a year of competitive work behind them.
"We have divided the training between the three weekly sessions," says Coach Prati, "alternating metabolic work with targeted matches, positional drills and technical work integrated according to competitive engagements. It's work that, in these first months of the season, has allowed the talent of the young Rossonere and their ability to read game situations well to emerge".
The championship has so far seen a route of only victories, with the next stages being more demanding in terms of difficulty, given the gradual transition from a regional to a national scale. "Right now we are at about 60-70% of our potential," continues Coach Prati, "but with three months behind us there is more awareness and knowledge of our approach".
"Also, with increasing work loads and tempo, the group will be more accustomed and inclined to fatigue". The Rossonere's coach then traces the outlines of the final goal for the rest of the season: "We want to improve technical and situational execution combined with speed, and to feel like a team and not just a group."
