It's been a fantastic year. First, they had a great experience in Viareggio (reaching the final against Brøndby) and were involved in the Scudetto Final Four. Now, they've started 2022/23 in excellent fashion. The women's Primavera have just three games left in 2022: two away matches against San Marino Academy and Sassuolo, plus a big showdown against reigning champions Roma in between.
Important points will be at stake for a team that narrowly and undeservedly lost the derby in their last outing. After Letizia Galdini's fifth goal of the season had got them back into the match, Coach Corti's girls created several chances in the closing stages but weren't able to convert them, meaning they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Inter at the PUMA House of Football.
"The derby was a hard-fought game, and there are things we can take with us as we look to try and improve," said Davide Corti. "The team fought until the end. However, we weren't able to secure a draw, which would have been a fairer result." Naturally, attentions now turn to the final 270 minutes of the year.
"The objective over the next few games before the break is to try to win but, in doing so, manage games better by being even more aggressive and showing even more desire to come out on top," concluded the Rossonere Coach.
