THIAW IS THE MVP FROM MONZA v AC MILAN

Malick repeats the feat: the German defender is once again confirmed as the best Rossoneri of the match

Malick Thiaw has once again taken centre stage. After being chosen as the best player in the last-16 first-leg tie against Tottenham, the German defender has for the second time running been voted as the MVP, in the game between Monza v AC Milan, by the Rossoneri supporters through the AC Milan Official App.

This time round, the stage was matchday 23 in Serie A, with three important points up for grabs. At Brianteo in Monza, the Düsseldorf-born defender played another key 90 minutes in the centre of the Rossoneri backline, in a hard-fought game full of duels and battles across the pitch, which eventually saw AC Milan coming out on top 1-0.

It was a third straight start for Malick Thiaw, and a third consecutive clean sheet to boot, in all competitions. The 21-year-old is paying back the faith shown to him by Coach Pioli in the best possible way, approaching every challenge with determination and focus, vital characteristics that are shoring up the Rossoneri defence.

Malick also showed his threat in attack, going mightily close to grabbing his first-ever goal for the Diavolo from a set-piece. From the preferences expressed by the Milanisti, Thiaw came ahead of teammate Junior Messias - the match-winner - and Ciprian Tătărușanu. Well done, Malick!
