After a long absence Alexis Saelemaekers has once again pleased the Rossoneri fans. In AC Milan's European opener, he got the goal to draw the team level after Okafar had put the home side ahead. It was the number 56's first-career goal in the UEFA Champions League on his 7th appearance in the competition.
The Belgian was the liveliest player in what was a tight and complicated opening half for the away side. His enterprise and sacrifice has earned him the award of being the best player on the pitch. Alexis came out on top ahead of Rafael Leão, who made the assist for him, and Theo Hernández in the vote made by fans made via the AC Milan Official App.
His left-footed strike was precise and coolly taken and gave Köhn no chance, in what may prove to be a vital goal and point in the Rossoneri's European journey. He was constantly leading the team forward and showed his usual, guaranteed defensive spirit. He was eventually substituted in the closing stages of the match.
Alexis made the most number of crosses (7) and successful crosses (2), as well as successful dribbling passages (5). The Rossoneri supporters have attributed to him a show of trust and recognition that can only give him a boost of confidence in the following games, well done Alexis!
