Ante Rebić's first two goals as a Rossoneri player came against Udinese in January 2020, sending the San Siro into raptures at the end of an incredible comeback. To kick off this season's campaign, the Croatian predator decided to repeat history once again, grabbing two goals to help AC Milan to victory in their opening match of the season with Udinese.
It was a double that has deservedly earned him the MVP of the match. With almost two-third of the votes registered by supporters on the AC Milan Official App, Ante finished ahead of the other scorers on the day, Brahim Díaz and Theo Hernandez.
His first was a clean right-footed strike from 12 yards out after Captain Calabria's assist. Then, he blasted home nicely from the six-yard box, after Diaz had won the ball back high up the field. They were two vital and important goals that gets our number twelve off the mark and finally breaks a barren spell that hasn't seen him score at San Siro since April 2021.
But it wasn't only his goals. Rebić contributed to the team's performance and linked up well with his team-mates all evening, as seen by winning back possession three times, making three crosses and four set-ups. It was a great opening performance to the new season, bravo Ante!
