Rafael Leão has played a massive part in the Rossoneri's success this season, in particular over the last month. In May, the 22-year-old Portuguese international lead his team by example and made a difference in every game. His winning goal at san Siro against Fiorentina, the two assists for Tonali's goals at Verona's Bentegodi Stadium, the goal in the 1-0 win over Atalanta and not to mention the two assists at the Mapei Stadium on the final day, against Sassuolo.
He finishes the month with 2 goals and 4 assists to his name. Whenever the pressure was on, Rafa never hid from the responsibility in an attempt to change the game.
As well as becoming the Rossoneri's top-scorer this season, alongside Giroud (11), Rafa finished the season on top of several stats categories: assists (8), total shots (93), shots on goal (38), touches in the opposition box (193) and dribbles (98). A special mention for his dribbling ability, as he has managed more successful dribbles than anyone else in this season's Serie A.
After the Scudetto-winning game against Sassuolo, the Portuguese forward was voted the MVP for the whole of Serie A. The Rossoneri faithful have also chosen him as their player of the month for May: congratulations, Rafa!
