MVP FOR DECEMBER: ALEXIS SAELEMAEKERS

The Belgian was voted as the Rossoneri's best player in the final month of 2021

A great month. Alexis Saelemaekers improved exponentially in the final weeks of 2021, so much so that he has been named the Club's MVP for December. It's an important moment for the Belgian, who stood out with his immense efforts both with and without the ball; he knows how to turn defence into attack and is brilliant in the final third.

His month began with a stunning goal at San Siro against Salernitana - his first in a while - and he celebrated by lifting Simon Kjær's shirt into the sky: a fitting tribute after the Dane picked up an injury at Marassi. He suffered with the team in the tough run against Liverpool, Udinese and Napoli before ending the year on a high with a win over Empoli.

He really left his mark at the Castellani, setting up Kessie for the brace. Saelemaekers was named the MVP of the match against Empoli and had more touches (74), fouls won (6), crosses (5), chances created and duels won (3), as well as shots on target (2) than any other AC Milan player.

Now, Alexis - alongside the entire squad - will have to start 2022 on the right foot, starting with Thursday's game against Roma.
